Front View Jay HouseJay House is in a pleasant very walkable neighborhood in the charming town of Colusa, a short stroll from the Sacramento River. Forty percent of the migratory birds on the Pacific Flyway pass through the area, and Colusa is a few minutes drive from the wildlife refuges in the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge Complex. From the house it's a short walk into the Colusa-Egret RoomSacramento River State Recreation Area. The area is very familiar to bird watchers, hunters and fishermen, but is otherwise a well-kept secret. Only an hour from Sacramento or two hours from San Francisco, Colusa is like another world. This is a real small town, undiscovered by tourists, yet with all the ingredients for a fun and relaxing get-away. You can contact us via email or by phone at (707) 480-3457 to reserve your visit to Jay House.

The Ornithologist has visited the Jay House and can personally recommend an evening or two or three in Colusa. It's a delightful place to wander around and birdwatch along the levee and the nearby state park. The coffee shop down the street and the various businesses have a real local flavor. And be sure to watch "To Kill A Mockingbird" as one scene was filmed on the steps of the historic courthouse.
